GROUP LEADERS
Provide your students with a life-changing experience abroad.
THE LIVE N LEARN DIFFERENCE
We believe that the best way to LEARN about a culture is LIVE it! For that reason, experiential learning is at the heart of all of our trips. Students will be fully immersed into the culture of a country eating authentic food, visiting places off the beaten path, and interacting with locals through fun and unique activities.
We also believe strongly in building relationships with our teachers to ensure that we create an itinerary that is perfectly tailored to their students’ needs. We work very closely with our teachers and are there every step of the way from planning to executing the dream trip for their students.

“All of the hotels were amazing and in GREAT locations, and the food… THE FOOD! Where do I begin? It was amazing quality, authentically Spanish, varied, and PLENTIFUL. I loved every meal. I loved how there was so much choice for the kids and Pablo’s passion & encouragement for kids to try new foods was just great.”
– Mike V. | Teacher Trip Leader
“Communication and organization was perfect. We were given a LOT of choice when it came to designing the itinerary and tours. We were updated along the way and apprised of any changes, etc. Live N Learn´s promotional media is outstanding–videos, slides, written rules, packing lists, etc.”
– Lisa V. | Teacher Trip Leader
“Our experience with Live N Learn was exceptional! I have travelled with the big companies in the past and nothing matches the personalized attention you will receive with LNL! Robin and Ansley were there for us every step of the way. It’s reassuring to know that you can talk to real people with years of experience who share my same passion for travel! They are true pros! We were able to tailor our trip to our students’ needs and they were really great about proposing different options for food and varied activities; and they were open to suggestions! We had a lovely mix of cultural and natural excursions! We’ll be back next year! Thanks Live N Learn!”

“Live N Learn has created the perfect experience for Spanish learners. Students get to travel around a region of Spain while participating in various fun activities, and later immerse themselves in the life of a Spanish family. This wonderful experience results in the growth of my students’ consciousness as global citizens along with their love for the Spanish language and culture. It is a great quality program, run by a wonderful team of professionals devoted to educating young people. “
– Aurelio A. | Teacher Trip Leader
“The experience for the far majority of the students has been life changing. Many students continue in contact with their Spanish siblings and also travel to Spain to visit them. My students who have participated have found it to be an absolutely wonderful experience. Live N Learn provides and organizes numerous activities for the host families and their Spaniard during the visit. Live N Learn does an outstanding job of pairing student based on their interest. I have personal experiences hosting as well. I have a daughter and a son who each hosted a Spaniard who stayed with us. They learned so much from the spaniards who stayed with us. They learned so much from the Spaniard while also thoroughly enjoying all of the new experiences that they were able to share with the Spaniard.”

F.A.Q.’s
Where is Live N Learn located?
We have offices in Madrid (Spain) and Cincinnati (Ohio, USA). We also have remote staff in Columbus (Ohio, USA) and partners in Paris (France), Costa Rica, Peru, Granada (Spain), and Oviedo (Spain).
What is the minimum number of students needed for a trip?
The minimum for a group to travel alone is 18. If a group has less students than the minimum there will be a small group fee to travel alone. There is always the option to combine with another group in that case as well.
What is Live N Learn’s process for addressing emergencies or unforeseen circumstances during the trip?
In the case of a health emergency, the Tour Director will direct the teacher to which hospital they should take a student and provide them with continuous support. The Tour Director must always stay with the group, but one of the teacher chaperones will accompany the affected traveler and will stay with them at all times. The teacher will be the main point of contact for the school and the parents. The Tour Director and Live N Learn will be in frequent contact with the teacher and will help with any additional logistical support or health insurance needs. In the case of a crisis, Live N Learn will move the group from the affected area immediately and be in contact with the U.S. Embassy to alert them of whereabouts and to be sure to follow official recommendations. Our GeoBlue travel medical insurance includes coverage of up to $100,000 per person in the case of a political event or natural disaster.
How will we be paired with a student?
Live N Learn matches families and students based on the age, gender and interests of the American host student and international student. We do our best to assure that your family and the student you host share common interests and lifestyles. We personally interview all families and students and also have both parties fill out a questionnaire in order to make the best matches possible.
How are host families abroad recruited and vetted?
Host family recruitment is done through partner schools and our network of former travelers and host families. Host families are required to complete both criminal and sexual offense background checks. Our team abroad also visits in person the home of each host family to ensure that the home is suitable for our travelers. We also call 2 non-family references and in the cases that we work with their schools, we confirm that the school would also recommend them.
What is included in the cost of the trip?
Round-trip airfare, all activities and tours, accommodations, bilingual Tour Director, travel medical insurance, and 1 teacher chaperone for every 6 students are always included in the cost of a trip. We can customize a trip to include however many meals you would like for your group. For us, food is the cornerstone of our trips and we like to typically include more meals than other travel companies in order to ensure students are eating authentic cuisine of the destination country.
What is the student-to-chaperone ratio?
Our typical student-to-chaperone ratio is 1 chaperone for every 6 students. We can, however, accommodate for a different ratio if a Group Leader or school prefers.
